The Charlie “Colossus” Company of Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) trained on Combat Life Saving (CLS) as part of its Sustained Warfighting Enhancement and Evaluation Program (SWEEP) at 53IB Charlie Company Headquarters, Barangay Gasa, Lakewood on June 28, 2021.

Lectures involving applications to real life scenarios such as First Aid Treatment of injuries, field treatment, evacuation of sick and wounded and uses of combat lifesaving were taught to the Matapat Troopers.

The capability to save lives in actual combat scenarios forms part of 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
