COMMUNITY SERVICE: Army Engages Impoverished Communities, gives slippers to children

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and 1st CMO “Mahigalaon” Battalion (1CMOBn) conducted Community Engagement activities in the hinterland sitio of Kumpayan, Barangay Dapiwak, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on June 30, 2021.

In coordination with Barangay Officials headed by Barangay Chairman Jerson Cabahug, the Matapat and Mahigalaon Troopers conducted feeding program and gave slippers which benefited eighty (80) children of the community.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
