SILENT, SWIFT, FEARLESS | 53IB CONDUCTS NIGHT MOVEMENT TRAINING
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) sharpened its night fighting capability through the conduct of Night Movement Training at the mountainous terrain of Barangay Gasa in Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur on the night of June 28, 2021.
The Night Movement Training forms part of the Sustained Warfighting Enhancement Evaluation Program (SWEEP) of 53IB’s Charlie “Colossus” Company.Night Combat operations is a Mission essential skill of troops.
The expert utilization of Night Vision Goggles (NVG) and Night Vision Monoculars (NVM) through training will enhance warfighting capabilities and ensure element of surprise against the enemy.The SWEEP is part of 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
