IThe Commanding Officer of the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera awarded medals to two (2) Matapat Troopers during his visit to the different detachments in its area of operations on June 26-27, 2021.

The medals were awarded for the Matapat Troopers’ meritorious performance and invaluable service rendered to this unit,” said 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera in a statement.

Awarding of deserving troops is part of 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
