STRENGTHENING NCO LEADERSHIP: 53IB SERGEANT MAJOR EMPOWERS FELLOW NCOs

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) through its Sergeant Major TSg. Vicente Mayo introduced the Non Comissioned Officer (NCO) Leadership to the 53IB’s Charlie Company Troopers at Charlie Company Headquarters, Barangay Gasa, Lakewood Zamboanga del Sur on June 19, 2021.

TSg Mayo discussed the NCO traits, qualities, character, competence, commitment, and credibility; the NCO Support Channel and Key NCOs in the NCO SC; the General Duties and Responsibilities of NCOs, NCO Scope Of Authority; and “Why NCO Leadership Strengthens the Organization” and Military Real Talk.

The activity was also attended by 53IB Personnel Officer Cpt. Michael Bumidang, Alpha Company Executive Officer 2Lt. Kim Cedrick Lemus.

This training forms part of 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
