CThe Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) joined hands with the community on its Bayanihan activity in renovating the San Jose Chapel at Sitio Kumpayan, Barangay Dapiwak, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on June 18, 2021.
The activity was also participated by a team from 1st Civil-Military Operations Battalion (1CMO Bn) led by SSg Hernando Hoqilla Jr. composed of seven Enlisted Personnel (EP), two CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs).
The bayanihan and renovation activity aim to finish the chapel ahead of its Fiesta schedule and to give comfort to its believers when attending the Holy Mass every Sunday. Brother Rey Banglos Yongod, the Roman Catholic Lay Minister of San Jose Chapel in Kumpayan, thanked the Army for their heart for the community.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to strategically communicate the Army’s transformation to become world class that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
