CONVERGING FOR PEACE AND SECURITY: 53IB Attends Peace and Order Council Meeting
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) attended the Joint meeting of Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC), Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), Municipal Development Council (MDC) at Poblacion Gymnasium, Barangay Poblacion, Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur on June 23, 2021.
The topics discussed by 53IB during the meeting included the following: Current Enemy Situation Update; Updates and Perspective on ELCAC Projects; Peace Building Efforts; Proposed Community Engagements on August 2021 in Barangays Mabini, Dipalusan and Bagong Opon; and Better Life: Adopt a CAFGU Project for CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs).
Also shared by 53IB are Digital and Social Media Initiatives of the unit on various social networking sites, the 53IB Website, and the Breaking Free Book featuring stories of Former Rebels (Friends Rescued).The meeting was presided by Municipal Mayor Leonilo D Borinaga, Sr. which was attended by Vice Mayor Margie A Machon, MLGOO Ethel Trobanos, MHO Dr. John Angelou Batoon, OIC, COP RM P/Lt Juanito Aballe, DepEd Supervisor Dr. Minda Castillo Ed.D, CPA – MDRRMO Mr Noriben Jay Lubguban and participants from BJMP, BFP, MENRO and other offices.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
