PAGADIAN CITY COMMENDS 53IB’s HUMANITARIAN SERVICE AND ENDURING COMMITMENT TO PEACE
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) was recognized by the City Government of Pagadian for its commendable support to Interagency Task Force Covid 19 and enduring commitment to public service and peace during the 52nd Araw ng Pagadian held at the Pagadian City Hall yesterday, 21 June 2021.
A Plaque of Appreciation was given to 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera during the said occasion.
The City Government also recognizes the outstanding efforts of the members of 53IB which have made a significant impact on the well-being of the Pagadianons, as well as peace and order of their communities.With the recent dismantling of NPA groups in Zamboanga del Sur, the 53IB keeps conducting peace and security operations especially in the hinterland barangays of Pagadian City to prevent the resurgence of Communist-NPA Terrorists (CNTs).
The conduct of peace and security operations to keep its area of operations safe is part of the 53IB’s drive to strategically communicate the Army’s transformation to become world class that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
