DELIVERING HEALTH SERVICES: Siayan MTF-ELCAC, 53IB Bring Medical Mission to Far-Flung Barangay
Even amid the pandemic, the Siayan Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) and Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) strived to bring a medical mission to the far-flung barangay of Guibo, Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte last June 9.
The Medical Mission was partnered by a free “Operation Tuli,” feeding program, and giving of slippers to the kids of the barangay. Said activity was spearheaded by Siayan mayor and MTF-ELCAC Chairperson Josecor Gepolongca together with a team for 53IB’s Alpha “Archers” Company led by Sgt Jayson Abara.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to strategically communicate the Army’s transformation to become world class that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
