COMMUNITY SERVICE| Empowering BTF-ELCAC; Engages Community to Stop NPA Recruitment

The Barangay Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (BTF-ELCAC) of Barangay Dilud, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur and Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) continues to serve the community by conducting community engagement activities on June 8, 2021.

The BTF-ELCAC chaired by Barangay Chairman Bonifacio Enlab and the Matapat Troopers conducted house-to-house visitations in Barangay Dilud to help stop New People’s Army recruitment in their barangay.

The NPA, a declared terrorist organization by governments both local and abroad, continues to commit crimes against humanity—crimes the BTF-ELCAC of Dilud wish to avert.

This activity was also participated by a team from 1st Civil-Military Operations Battalion (1CMO Bn) led by SSg Hernando Hoqilla Jr. composed of six Enlisted Personnel (EP) and two CAFGU Active Auxiliaries (CAAs).

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
