COMMEMORATING INDEPENDENCE: 53IB Launches 2-Gun Challenge

As part of its commemoration of the 123rd Independence Day, the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) launched the ‘2-Gun Challenge’ on 12 June 2021.

The challenge aimed to enhance the skills competency of the Matapat Troopers in using their R4A3 Carbine Rifle and pistols. Also serving as the troops’ training, the 2-Gun Challenge is essential in reinforcing their readiness and preparation so the they can better serve the people they have sworn to protect.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to strategically communicate the Army’s transformation to become world class that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
