PEACE, SECURITY INITIATIVES | Army Collaborates with PNP in Kumalarang, ZDS

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and the Philippine National Police Municipal Police Station held a coordination meeting on May 27, 2021, for peace and security initiatives in Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Police P/Maj. Gaspar Gadingan and 53IB Charlie Commanding Officer 1Lt Alvin Ibarra. Among the topics that were discussed in the meeting include: Joint AFP-PNP operations in Kumalarang, Updates on communist terrorist groups, and AFP-PNP Coordination in joint quarantine checkpoints.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
