SERVING REMOTE COMMUNITIES: 53IB Renders Community Service in Barangay Dilud, Dumingag, ZDS

To provide continuous collaborations and support to communities especially in remote areas, the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and the 1st Civil-Military Operations Battalion (1CMOBn) conducted Community Engagement activities at Barangay Dilud, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on May 22, 2021.

The Matapat Troopers, led by SSg. Hernando Hoqilla Jr. and assisted by SSg. Gregorio Calunsag Jr., in coordination with Barangay Dilud Youth Association led by Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman Wendel Jacinto, held tree planting and clean up drive activities to maintain the clean and green environments in the area.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
