Matapat Troopers Tackle Human Rights Principles in Lakewood, ZDS
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) conducted a lecture on Human Rights for Matapat Troopers at Command Post in Barangay Gasa, Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur on May 21, 2021.
Among the topics that were discussed included the following: Human Rights Principles,Classifications, Characteristics, Obligations and Accountability, State Obligations; International Bills of Rights; Universal Declaration of Human Rights; Core International Human Rights Instruments, Domestic Human Right; Gross Human Rights Violations; and AFP ROE Card and General Rules of Engagement.
The lecture was facilitated by 53IB Charlie Commanding Officer 1Lt Alvin Ibarra, 2Lt. Kim Cedrick Lemus, and SSg Rommel Salcedo.
This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
