ENHANCING COMBAT SKILLS: 53IB Charlie Company Holds Company Warfighting Sustainment Training in Lakewood, ZDS

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) Charlie “Colossus” Company started the 30-day Sustain Warfighting Enhancement and Evaluation Program (SWEEP) Training Class 01-21 in an opening ceremony held on May 17, 2021, in Barangay Gasa, Lakewood, Zamboanga del Sur, with the 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col Jo-ar Herrera as keynote speaker.

The program was facilitated by 53IB Charlie Company Commander 1Lt. Alvin Ibarra, Assistant Operations Officer Sgt. Dony Paciente, and Training Officer 1Lt. Jerick Papa.Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera reminded the Matapat Troopers about the essence and importance of the training.

“Everyone should take this training by heart toward the success and accomplishment of every mission,” he said.

This activity is part of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
