To provide continuous collaborations and support to communities especially in remote areas, the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) and the 1st Civil-Military Operations Battalion (1CMOBn) conducted Community Engagement activities at Purok 2, Barangay Dilud, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on May 9, 2021.
The Matapat Troopers, led by SSg. Hernando Hoqilla Jr. and assisted by SSg. Gregorio Calunsag Jr., conducted a flag-raising ceremony in the said community to promote allegiance to the Philippine Flag and remind the residents to support the government programs for their welfare. The children were also treated with candies.
These activities are parts of the 53IB’s drive to pursue transformation to become a world class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028 in line with the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR).
