IP ADVOCACIES FOR PEACE: 53IB, NCIP to Celebrate IP Cultural Day in June
The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) in partnership with the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) will hold IP Cultural Day Celebrations for 2021 with the theme: “Sembuen Muha Heghumpong Pa’ra ri H’linaw” Subanen for “Welcome and Gathering for Peace” on June 3, 2021 at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Maj. David Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.
NCIP Development Management Officer Criselda Boliver and OIC Regional Director Mercilyn Hatad together with Matapat Troopers led by 2Lt. Rhomalene Custodio made a courtesy call on May 8, 2021, to Guipos Acting Mayor Junevell Oraiz-Lamiing to discuss the program of activities .The program intends to welcome the rebel returnees to the real freedom they have gained from the clutches of the communist terrorist groups (CTGs).
The activities will be participated by Rebel Returnees, Tribal Leaders, Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMRs), IP-Women, Youth, Local Chief Executives, Punong Barangays, and National Line Agencies.
