STEPPING UP GOOD GOVERNANCE: 53IB, DILG NTF-ELCAC SUCBEM Cluster IX, Guipos LGU Strengthen Partnerships for Peace

Strengthen Partnership for PeaceThe Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) in partnership with the Sectoral Unification, Capacity Building, Empowerment and Mobilization (SUCBEM) Cluster of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed-Conflict (NTF ELCAC) IX, and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur held a meeting to strengthen partnerships and collaborations for peace and security.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) NTF ELCAC Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division OIC Chief Ruel Trobanos, DILG Local Government Operations Officer III Elmer Egama, DILG Legal Officer Atty. Jenric Garcia, Acting Mayor of Guipos Vice Mayor Junevell Oraiz-Lamiing, and 53IB Acting Civil Military Operations Officer (CMO) 2Lt. Rhomalene Custodio discussed the upcoming Regional Conference for Peace and Development (RCPD) in Guipos scheduled on May 21-22, 2021.

The SUCBEM Cluster’s function is focused on the implementation of Government programs that strengthen and reinforce good governance and peace and sustainable development particularly in marginalized groups.

In accordance to President Duterte’s E.O. 70 “Whole-of-Nation Approach” to end comunist insurgency, the SUCBEM Cluster’s primary aim is to engage, unify, capacitate, empower, and mobilize all sectors of the society to be free and resistant to the communist-terrorist groups (CTGs) mass base building operations and infiltration activities.
