BEACON THE LIGHT OF HOPE: Army, LGU, Private Sectors Conduct Medical Mission in Barangay Dumalian, San Miguel, ZDS

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB), in partnership with the Local Government Units of San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur, Dental Team of the 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division (1ID), 547th Engineering “Agila” Battalion, Philipine National Police, and the private sector – CC and MMM Lending Corporation, KPSP youth leaders, PMFC ZSPPO, and SM MPs conducted Medical and Dental Mission at Barangay Dumalian, San Miguel on April 21, 2021.

The 53IB and partners provided free medical dental checkups for the residents of Barangay Dumalian. A feeding program and entertainment activities were also conducted for the children.

“This mission aims not only to provide free medical services to low income communities and far flung areas, but to also act as a beacon of light and hope for people who feel less privileged in meeting these basic health care needs,” 53IB Charlie Company Commander 1Lt Jonathan Cernitchez said.

The activities were spearheaded by 1ID Dental Team was led by Lt. Col. Romolo Aujero, CC and MMM Lending Corp. headed by Marilou Felicia, and KPSP youth leaders headed by James Gudmalin.
