COMMUNITY SERVICE: 53IB’s Adopt-a-CAFGU Project, 547Ebn, LGU Hold Serbisyo Caravan Medical Mission in Tigbao, ZDS

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) held Operation Tuli and Medical and Dental Mission Serbisyo Caravan for at least 123 residents at Barangay Libayoy, Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur on April 20, 2021, as part of the unit’s “Better Life: Adopt a CAFGU Project” in partnership with 547th Engineering “Agila” Battalion (547Ebn) and the Municipality of Tigbao.

“The ‘Better Life: Adopt a CAFGU Project’ is a comprehensive program of providing the necessary assistance, knowledge, and structural pathway for our CAFGU Active Auxiliary personnel for them to achieve personal and professional growth,” 53IB Commanding officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera said.

“Serbisyo Caravan aims to bring government services closer to the people by delivering basic services to the far-flung barangays. It is also our way of expressing our gratitude and recognizing our CAFGU personnel in their dedication to service for helping our Matapat Troopers in maintaining peace and security in the area,” Lt. Col. Herrera said.

547Ebn provided magic performance entertainment and parlor games for children.

The activities were spearheaded by Tigbao LGU led by Municipal Administrator Jill Carcallas, RHU Tigbao headed by MHO Dr. Dabica Mae Calimot, and 53IB Charlie Company Commander 1Lt Jonathan Cernitchez.
