SPREADING AWARENESS VS. TERRORISTS: Army Distributes Leaflets in Barangay Dilud, Dumingag, ZDS
To disseminate awareness of the dangers of joining or supporting the communist New People’s Army terrorists (CNT), the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion and 1st Civil-Military Operations “Mahigalaon” Battalion conducted leaflets distribution to the community of Purok 4, Barangay Dilud, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on April 16, 2021.
The said activity also aims to encourage the residents to persuade the CNTs particularly the members of a group led by “Mobin.”
“The leaflets distribution spreads awareness of the government’s programs and projects including the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) for NPA rebels who would surrender and go back to the folds of the law. We encourage them to come down from the mountains and give up the fight for a senseless ideology to regain their peaceful and better lives,” 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera said.
