53IB, LGU Holds Local Peace-Building Forum on ELCAC for Mahayag, ZDS

To strengthen partnerships and collaborations among Barangay Chairpersons and maintain peace and order in the Municipality of Mahayag in accordance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s Executive Order (EO) 70, the 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur held an ELCAC Peacebuilding Forum at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Major David Sabido, Guipos town on April 20, 2021, spearheaded by Mayor Manuel Saladaga and 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera. Among the topics that were discussed included updates on road projects; lectures on E.O. 70, Anti-Terror Law, and Good Governance; testimonies of barangay chairperson and former rebels.
