The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) conducted Serbisyo Caravan community engagement activities in Barangay New Tuburan, Tigbao, Zamboanga del on April 10, 2021.
The 53IB Charlie Company conducted a feeding program, parlor games, and free haircuts for at least 100 residents in coordination with Tigbao Municipal Mayor Eleazar Carcallas and barangay officials.
“We aim to bring happiness to the residents especially to the children,” 53IB Charlie Company Commander 1Lt. Jonathan Cernitchez said.
“Our Matapat Troopers are consistent in reminding the residents that they must not support the remnants of communist terrorist groups in order to continue the progress and development in their barangay,” 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera said.
