Dumalinao LGU Recognizes 53IB for Peace, Security Efforts in Zamboanga del Sur

The Municipality of Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur has recognized the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) was for the unit’s peace and security initiatives during the town’s commemoration programs for 79th Valor Day (Araw ng Kagitingan) with the theme: “Kagitingan ay Gawing Gabay Pandemya ay Mapagtagumpayan” on April 9, 2021.

“A plaque of recognition was given to 53IB “MATAPAT” 1ID, Philippine Army in recognition for the unwavering and ongoing commitment and dedicated service especially in time of the pandemic,” the plaque of appreciation reads.

“We are very much thankful to the 53IB Matapat Troopers for all their hard work, support, and sacrifices, in this difficult time. Your humility, kindness, and strength are greatly appreciated. Thank You for being our country’s guiding light in the face of this adversity. You are truly our modern-day heroes.” Dumalinao Municipal Mayor Junaflor Cerilles said.

“We don’t need to die to become heroes. We just need to do our best and become heroic by extending help to those who are in need,” Mayor Cerilles said.

The program was attended by 53IB Executive Officer Cpt . Bahnarin Camsa, 547EBn Executive Officer Cpt. Mark Anthony Aclo, Dumalinao Chief o Police PMaj. Joel Galeriana, MDRRMO Officer Joemar Suganob, and Dumalinao RHU Officer Dr. Patrick Kean Toledo.
