HELPING FRs TO REGAIN THEIR LIVES: 53IB, LGU Facilitates E-CLIP Activities in Zamboanga del Sur
The Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Sur in partnership with the 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) facilitated the Livelihood Assistance Program as part of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) for former Communist Party fo the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) rebels (FRs) in a simple turnover ceremony in Pagadian City on April 6, 2021.
The program included psycho-social and values formation activities for the FRs to help them in regaining their lives as responsible and productive citizens.
“These activities will help in giving them directions to become a better version of themselves. The financial assistance we provide will help them for their day-to-day needs,” Governor Victor Yu said.
Also present during the program were DILG IX Provincial Director Mohammad Taha Aracama, PDSWDO Officers Gloria Patayan, and Ermilina Pacatan. It was also participated by the 44th Infantry Battalion, 97th Infantry Battalion, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, and Philippine National Police.
