Outstanding Performance: 53IB Charlie Company receive Commendation

The 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) Charlie Company received Letters of Commendation during the Flag Raising Ceremony at 53IB Headquarters, Camp Major Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur on April 5, 2021.

53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera handed the Letters of Commendation and Certificate of Recognition to Charlie Company  and received by 1Lt. Jonathan Cernitchez and TSg. Giovanni Presno.

“Their untiring support and significant contribution as Commanding Officer of Charlie ( COLOSSUS) Company, 53rd Infantry (MATAPAT) Battalion, 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division, Philippine Army, for the successful conduct and implementation of unit’s Better Life: Adopt a CAFGU Project in the area of responsibility from February 3 to March 23,” the commendation reads.

“I want to thank God for this opportunity and for always guiding us every day away from harm. To my Charlie “Colossus” Company, thank you for supporting and following my instructions with all your heart. And thank you to our Battalion Commander, Sir, for molding us to be better soldiers. My task as Company Commander is to replicate, disseminate, and to implement the tasks given to me by our Battalion Commander in order to be successful in every mission.” 1Lt. Cernitchez said.

“The role of a Commander is to take good care of his people and that is what I am doing for you all. That is why we also take good care of all our CAFGus under our patrol bases. We also must address their needs and concerns.” Lt. Col. Herrera said.

“Everything that we do in this unit is not a ‘lip service.’ We do it by actions. We take actions to implement and to make it possible for the benefits of all,” Lt. Col. Herrera said.
