PEACE INITIATIVES IN REMOTE AREAS: 53IB Engages Communities in Barangay Saad, Dumingag, ZDS

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) conducted Community Engagement activities at Barangay Saad, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur on April 1, 2021.

In partnership with Barangay Saad Captain Jeffrey Senara Sr., the 53IB team led by 2Lt. Kim Kenneth Beloro conducted house–to–house visitation to discuss with the residents regarding the peace and order the situation updates of the area.“

The purpose of the activities was to show that the government is taking care of the communities in Barangay Saad, encourage them to support the government, and keep theme informed about the dangers of CPP-NPA terrorist recruitment,” 2Lt. Beloro said.
