INSPIRING YOUTH FOR PEACE: 53IB, LGU Conduct YLS Planning in Dumingag, ZDS
The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) in partnership with the Municipal Youth Development Office Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur conducted the planning for the upcoming Provincial Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) 2021.
The meeting was held at the Dumingag Tourism Offce on March 29, 2021. Among the topics that were discussed during the meeting included the following:
– YLS 2021 will follow the AFP’s YLS Project Proposal submitted by 53IB in October 2020;
– YLS 2021 will be a 4-day activity per batch that will be conducted for 15 batches;
– The daily activities to be conducted will be reviewed by the participants;
– There will be a Youth Summer Camp to be conducted as refresher training for the YLS Alumni Facilitators scheduled on April 20-22, 2021; and
– Tentative start of the YLS will be on April 26, 2021 until July 29, 2021.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Dumingag Municipal Office and Council, Dumingag Municipal Police Station, OPLAN AMUMA Personnel, BFP Dumingag, Federation of Dumingang SK, Barangay Officials Federated President of Dumingag, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) and Local Youth Development Office (LYDO).
