PREPARATIONS FOR RAMADAN: 53IB, LGU Launch Brigada Masjid in Dumalinao, ZDS

The Municipality of Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur, and the Bangsamoro Communities in partnership with the Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion’s (53IB) launched Brigada Masjid to prepare for the Ramadan Season at Barangay Mama on March 31, 2021.

Masjid is an Arabic word for “mosque.” 53IB’s Executive Officer Cpt. Bahnarin Camsa said: “The Brigada Masjid intends to assist our Muslim brothers and sisters in cleaning and repairing mosques in their respective areas to prepare for Ramadan season as well as showing them know that the government cares for them.”

The Brigada Masjid launching was attended by the Municipality of Dumalinao headed by Dumalinao Municipal Mayor Junaflor Cerilles, Vice Mayor Wilfredo Malong Sr., 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-Ar Herrera, 547EBn Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Michael Lemi, 102Bde Executive Officer Lt. Col. Nolasco Coderos Jr., Barangay Chairman Casim Tinggalong, Uztadz Ebrahim Balindong, Uztadz Abdulcadir Maruhom, Uztadz Ali Tumambiling and residents of the Barangays Mama and Metokong, Dumalinao.
