Civilian Volunteers Take Life Saving, Self Defense Training at Barangay Sinonok, Dumingag, ZDS.

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion’s (53IB) Alpha Company led by 1Lt. Janryl Gumalad, in coordination with officials of Barangay Sinonok, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur conducted community engagement activities for the residents of the said barangay on March 28, 2021.

53IB’s Cpl. Peter Paul Medalle conducted a Self Defense Techniques and Life Saving Training for civilian volunteers. “This training aims to enhance their knowledge and skills to respond in any situation that might arise and strengthen the defense system of the barangay against lawlessness.

The Civilian Volunteer Organization is a force multiplier in law enforcement support operations especially in maintaining peace and order,” 1Lt. Gumalad said.The 53IB’s Alpha Company also conducted flag-raising ceremony, feeding program at Purok 3 of Barangay Sinonok.
