Children in Dapiwak, Dumingag Express Gratitude to Matapat Troopers
A number of children in Purok 2, Barangay Dapiwak, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur, where the Philippine Army’s 53rd “MATAPAT” Battalion recently held community engagement activities expressed gratitude by writing letters to the Matapat Troopers.
53IB’s Charlie Company headed by 2Lt. Magno Relado together with Barangay Dapiwak Councilor Dionisio Raval, and Barangay Tanod Leader Jose Morales spearheaded the activities on March 17, 2021, including flag-raising, pulong-pulong (community meeting) where ELCAC and E-Clip were discussed, and distribution of transistor radios and rice.“This activity intends to win the hearts and minds of the people in Barangay Dapiwak and to show them that the government is giving them importance and also to convince the families who are still sympathetic to communist terrorist groups,” Lt. Relado said.
