53IB Provides Security Updates in Joint MDC-MPOC-MDRRMC Meeting in Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) provided security updates in Joint Municipal Development Council, Municipal Peace and Order Council, and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council of Siayan, Zamboanga del Sur on March 16, 2021.

53IB’s Bravo Company Commander 2Lt. Niel Kim Garcia discussed the current peace and security situation in Siayan Municipality. 2Lt. Garcia said that the 53IB supports President Duterte‘s Campaign against terrorists under E.O. 70 and the ELCAC for all Barangays.

The 53IB’s Bravo Company continuously conducts community engagements in the far-flung areas to disseminate awareness against CPP-NPA recruiters.

The Joint MDC-MPOC-MDRRMC Meeting was spearheaded by Siayan Mayor Atty. Josecor Gepolongca, Vice Mayor Primitivo Castillo, MPOC Member Sixto Atuy, Planning Officer Xavier Indiape, MDRRM- LDRRMO Renerio Adaza, MLGOO Chandiramani Obut, Siayan Chief of Police PLT Vicente Salaveria III, SB Members, DILG Representatives, Barangay Chairmans, and DEPED Staff.
