53IB, Midsalip LGU Conduct MPOC Updates

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) and the Local Government Unit of Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur held a Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) Meeting to provide updates on the peace and security situation on March 12, 2021.

1Lt.  Maverick Rey Mira, 53IB Alpha Company Commander, and Midsalip Municipal Mayor Elmer Soronio spearheaded the MPOC Meeting with at least 14 Council Members along with Sgt. Elias  Gomera, Civil-Military Operation NCO.

Among the topics that were discussed during the meeting included: current situation, Covid-19 update, accomplishment reports, report of ELCAC activities, presentation of Midsalip Plans, Programs, and Actions (PAPAs) for 2020-2021, Security Plan for incoming town fiesta, request of 53IB for support for the installation of detachment in Barangay Balonai.

PMaj. Edgar Hinoctan, reported on the crime updates and security plan for town fiesta. OIC, MHO, Dr. Evangeline Gallemit reported on the health initiatives of the Department of Health Regional Health Unit. Midsalip Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Ethel Trobanos reported the PAPAs 2020-2021 and ELCAC activities.
