MATAPAT@36: 53IB Launches Official Website

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) launched its official website in a simple program with Zamboanga del Sur 1st District Representative and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Divina Grace C. Yu as Guest of Honor and Speaker on January 26, 2020, at 53IB Headquarters Camp David P. Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

The website launching activity was part of 53IB’s 36th Founding Anniversary celebrations with the theme: “MATAPAT@36: Remember with Gratitude, Renew with Passion.”

“53IB’s official website at https://53ib.army.ph is designed with simplicity optimized for mobile devices to accommodate limited online data access in the province of Zamboanga del Sur,” 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar A. Herrera said in his welcome remarks during the launching program.

“We intend to harness the power of the Internet to share information about the Matapat Troopers activities and other information for the public we serve,” Lt. Col. Herrera said.

Quick-Response (QR) code prints were prominently placed inside Camp Sabido to encourage Matapat Troopers and visitors to easily access 53IB’s website.
