MATAPAT@36: 53IB Launches 36th Founding Anniversary Videos

The Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) launched its official 36th Founding Anniversary Videos in a simple program with Zamboanga del Sur 1st District Representative and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Divina Grace C. Yu as Guest of Honor and Speaker on January 26, 2020, at 53IB Headquarters Camp David P. Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

The launching of “WE ARE YOUR SOLDIERS: Matapat AVP 2021” and “FROM THE EAGLE’S EYE: The Essence of Matapat Troopers” was part of 53IB’s 36th Founding Anniversary celebrations with the theme: “MATAPAT@36: Remember with Gratitude, Renew with Passion.”

“The 8-minute “WE ARE YOUR SOLDIERS” video explains the leadership philosophy that we currently apply in the battalion and how it can create a significant impact in the way we fulfill our mandate to serve the people and secure the land for peace and progress,” 53IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar A. Herrera said during the program.

The “MATAPAT AVP 2021” was produced by Roel C. Leyson of Higala’s Stories, a video production organization based in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur and Pagadian City.

“The 3-minute “FROM THE EAGLE’S EYE” video shows a glimpse of what we have achieved together with the local government units of Zamboanga del Sur in the past year and illustrating our essence, the essence of MATAPAT soldiers as public servants and partners in building peaceful communities,” Lt. Col. Herrera said.

Produced by 53IB Civil-Military Operations section, the “FROM THE EAGLE’S EYE video portrays the mighty eagle with its powerful wings that soar to new heights that symbolize the Filipino soldiers including the Matapat Troopers’ passion in their journey of serving the people and securing the land,” Lt. Col. Herrera said.
