Overcoming Stress: 53IB Troopers Undergo Stress Debriefing, Character Enhancement Program

To overcome the stress the soldiers experience in the sustained conduct of Army operations against Communist-NPA Terrorists (CNTs), troops of Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) underwent a one-day Stress Debriefing and Character Enhancement Program on December 9, 2020 at 53rd IB Headquarters, Camp Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga Del Sur.

Joined by a total of 84 participants composed of six (6) officers, fifty-six (56) Enlisted Personnel, and twenty-four (24) Former Rebels (FRs) of 53rd IB, the seminar-workshop aimed to provide a conducive environment to discuss healthy stress coping skills, psychological health, and morale and welfare of troops and personnel.

The Character Enhancement Program, on the other hand, aimed to help the Troops give premium on having a happy, wealthy, and healthy family while putting God at the center of everything. These will greatly improve the performance and service of every soldier, a milestone in the quest towards the vision to have a world-class Army that is a source of national pride.

53rd IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera then presented a token and Certificates of Appreciation to the team from Army’s 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division who conducted the seminar-workshop: CPT REY N SOMBRERO, Assistant Division Chaplain; CPT NORLIE R VILOG, Evangelical Chaplain; CPT VINCENT M MENDAROS, 1LT IAN NOEL L CALOPEZ, PFC Pilar Gina E Fernando, and Ms Jacquiline DC Dellomes, RPm.
