Government Forces recover multiple high-powered firearms, subversive documents in Joint Retrieval Operations

The Government Forces on December 1 successfully recovered multiple high-powered firearms and war materiel in a Joint Retrieval Operations conducted in Sitio Sinatalan, Barangay Labangon, Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur.

Through the revelation of a newly-surrendered FR, they were able to retrieve one (1) AK47 assault rifle, one (M14) rifle and magazines, 7.62mm ammunition, subversive documents, medicines, and personal belongings.

According to 53rd IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera, the retrieval of said firearms is another fruit of Dumingag’s counterinsurgency plan dubbed as OPLAN ‘Amuma.’ ZamboSur Police Provincial Director Police Col. Rhode Espero also remarked that the operation’s success can be attributed to the great convergence, collaboration, and good relationship between and among law enforcement units and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The retrieved war materiel are currently under the custody of 1st PMFC for proper disposition.
