Community Support Program (CSP) Teams composed of Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB), 547th Engineer “Agila” Battalion (547EBn), and personnel from Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Police Office (ZNPPO) as they conduct refresher training to the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) of two of Siayan town’s conflict-affected barangay.

The training aimed to intensify the enforcement of peace and order in barangays Pange and Macasing, Siayan, Zamboanga del Norte province by positioning the barangays towards resiliency against NPA terrorists.

Barangays Pange and Macasing are long treated by NPA terrorists as their safe havens.

Also, series of lectures and practical exercises were given by the CSP teams including Basic Combatives, Emergency Response Drills, Basic Handcuffing Techniques, Human Rights, and International Humanitarian Law (IHL).

Though part of the series of activities incorporated in the conduct of Community Support Program, the training also formed part of the Peace, Law Enforcement, and Development Suppot (PLEDS) Cluster of the Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC).
