53rd IB Bestows Physical Proficiency Award, Certificate of Recognition to Deserving Matapat Troopers

The Army’s 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion (53IB) bestowed the Physical Proficiency Award and Certificate of Recognition to its deserving troops during the flag raising ceremony held on November 16, 2020 at the 53rd IB Headquarters, Camp Sabido, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur. 

The Physical Proficiency Awards were given to Sergeant Jomar Canto and Corporal Edmar Cullamar for garnering an average of 90% and above on their Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which was held last October 2020.

Also, a Certificate of Recognition was presented to Sgt Bernie Siano for his dedication to duty in monitoring the Tactical Command Post (TCP) during the conduct of Focused Military Operations (FMO) which immensely contributed to the remarkable accomplishments of the unit’s mission.

The certificates were given by 53rd IB Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera. In his message, he encouraged all Matapat Troopers to continue their pursuit of excellence, to strive more, and soar high.
