Army helicopter drops anti-NPA leaflets in Mindanao
In support of the Government’s campaign and thrust to end local communist armed conflict, the Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB) continues to dominate the information environment by delivering accurate and relevant information to far-flung areas utilizing helicopters of Tactical Operations Group 9, Philippine Air Force (TOG9, PAF).
With careful planning and execution and with help from the military pilots of TOG9, the 53rd IB was able to drop leaflets about the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) on November 6, 2020 in the far-flung barangays of Dumingag and Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur.
“Delivery of accurate information is very crucial to counter the evil and deceptive narratives of the Communist-NPA terrorists. Being equipped with information about the evil schemes of Communist-NPA Terrorists might be able to save vulnerable communities and sectors especially the Youth from NPA’s deceptive recruitment,” said 53IB Commanding Officer Jo-ar Herrera.
