The Physical Proficiency Award is given to the Matapat Troopers who garnered an average of 90% and above on their Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which was held last October 2020.
A total of 9 Matapat Troopers— 1 Officer and 8 Enlisted Personnel— received the prestigious award.
According to 53rd IB Logistics and Training Officer 1Lt. Jerick Papa, the Matapat Troopers stay motivated and positive to achieve the standard of excellence set by 53rd IB Commanding Officer Lt Col. Jo-ar Herrera, who maintained 100% score on his PFT result.
Lt. Col. Herrera continues to motivate the troops and said will continue to give appropriate recognition to the troops for striving hard and for giving their best efforts.
Soldiers, to be able to accomplish their sworn duties to the country and people, must be able to pass the PFT. The Physical Fitness Test is a three-event physical performance test used to assess endurance. It is used to measure physical strengths, abilities, and cardio-respiratory fitness.
