Peace Building Forum: Empowering Barangay Leaders to End Armed Conflict Against NPA

San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) empowered San Miguel Barangay Captains in a Local Peace Building Forum held on October 8, 2020, at 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion Headquarters, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

The said Local Peace Building Forum aims to have better convergence and collaboration with the Barangay Captains of San Miguel town, as they play a vital role in ending local communist armed conflict.

With the recent groundbreaking ceremony of ELCAC projects in Barangay Concepcion, San Miguel now vies to be free from Communist-NPA terrorist influence

Three of San Miguel’s 14 barangays were already declared as “Cleared” from NPA terrorists’ influence through Army’s Community Support Program (CSP). This paved the way for the entry of Serbisyo Caravans and various government projects and initiatives in San Miguel.
