53IB takes part in 29th Araw ng Guipos Celebration

53rd Infantry (Matapat) Battalion took part in the celebration of the 29th Araw ng Guipos with the theme “Guiposanon: Resilient and Steadfast amidst New Normal by God’s Grace,” last October 7, 2020.

Araw ng Guipos is celebrated annually by the Municipality of Guipos to commemorate its official establishment.

In his message, the Matapat Commander, Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera, expressed his gratitude for the Municipality’s warm welcome and support to the Army’s campaign against the communist insurgency.

“The 53rd Infantry (Matapat) Battalion has been here for many years now. This place became our second home and ever since, we, your army always know that we have you with us, as part of the team,” he said.

During the program, Mayor Vicente Cajeta expressed his appreciation to everyone who participated despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also present during the event was Cong. Leonardo Babasa.
