31 Former Rebels (FRs) who surrendered to Philippine Army’s 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion (53IB)received livelihood started kits from Zamboanga del Sur – Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Office Tuesday September 23.
The kits were given to the FRs during a simple program held at 53rd IB headquarters where Guipos MTF-ELCAC Chairperson Hon. Mayor Vicente Cajeta was invited as guest.
The distribution of kits was in line with the DTI’s Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PBG), a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program that aims to assist individuals and families affected by calamities, disasters, and the pandemic
Programs for Former Rebels are also anchored in Executive Order 70 signed by President Duterte which institutionalizes the whole-of-nation approach in ending local communist armed conflict.
