53rd IB installs new Battalion Executive Officer, Delta Company Commander

The 53rd Infantry (MATAPAT) Battalion installed its new Executive Officer and Delta Company Commander in a formal turn-over ceremony held on August 21, 2020, at headquarters, 53rd IB, Camp Sabido, Guipos, ZDS.

Cpt. Bahnarin K. Camsa succeeded Lt. Col. Leopoldo V. Solis as the Battalion Ex-O and Delta Company Commander.

Cpt. Camsa was the Civil-Military Operations Officer of the Army’s 77th Infantry (DON’T DARE) Battalion based at Camp Melchor F Dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu, Isabela Province before he was reassigned to 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division.

During his message, Cpt. Camsa said that he is grateful for the opportunity that was given to him to serve as the Battalion Executive Officer and at the same time the Delta Company Commander.

“I also thank Allah for giving me this very rare opportunity, and also to our Battalion Commander, Thank you, sir,” said Cpt. Camsa.

“This will be a very challenging task for me, and I will do my very best to perform my duty,” Cpt. Camsa added.

Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Solis in his speech said he was grateful for the two years and half of his journey together with the Matapat Troopers.

“I am very most happy that I was assigned as the Battalion Executive Officer to this Snappy and Proud Battalion for two and a half years of my career in service,” said Lt. Col. Solis.

The ceremony was presided by 53rd IB Commander Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera.

In his message, Lt. Col. Herrera gave his guidance to Cpt. Camsa, the newly-installed Battalion Ex-O and thanked Lt. Col. Solis, the Outgoing Ex-O, for his service and a job well done during his stint as Battalion Executive Officer and Delta Company Commander.

“And to Cpt. Camsa, my advice to you is to be open-minded, be a team player, and be passionate in your work so that you can be as productive as Lt. Col. Solis”, Lt. Col. Herrera said.

Lt. Col. Solis will be reassigned to 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division based in Upper Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.
