Pagadian City Councilor espouses convergence and collaboration with 53rd IB

Pagadian City Councilor Sam Tyra Co espoused convergence and collaboration with Army’s 53rd Infantry (MATAPAT) Battalion in her visit at this headquarters yesterday July 11, 2020.

She was apprised of the current security updates in Pagadian City, including the status of its far-flung barangays and the security posture of its coastal areas during a funshoot and team-building activity held at the Matapat Firing Range.

While dubbed as the Regional Center of Zamboanga Peninsula, 3 of Pagadian City’s 54 barangays are in the hinterlands and are determined as priority barangays for development by the Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (TF-ELCAC).

As part of the convergence, the development programs and initiatives in these barangays – Barangays Lisson Valley, Dampalan, and Lourdes – include the construction and rehabilitation of farm-to-market roads and construction of bridges.

An advocate of clean and green environment, her visit included a tree-planting activity which was held at the tree-planting area beside the Matapat Firing Range.

Also present in Hon. Co’s visit were her siblings Mr. Lance and Ms. Samantha Co; Vince Quipot, City Administrator; and Tyrone Singgo, Chief of Staff of Mayor Sammy Co.
