Communist terrorist neutralized in ZDS

A communist terrorist  was killed in a recent clash between the CTG and the combined troops from the 97th, 42nd, and 53rd Infantry Battalions in Barangay Piwan, Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur in the afternoon of June 28, 2020.

“The 25-minute firefight also resulted in the recovery of one M14 assault rifle, four anti-personnel mine, one hand grenade, one rifle grenade, magazines, and ammunitions ,”said  Col. Leonel Nicolas, 102nd Infantry Brigade.

Maj. Gen. Generoso “Gene” Ponio, Commander, 1st Infantry Division urged the remaining terrorists to lay down their arms and return to the folds of law.

Troops are in pursuit of the fleeing CTs.
