Communist-NPA-Terrorist (CNT) Member Surrenders To Army’s 97th Infantry Battalion

A Communist-NPA-Terrorist (CNT) member surrendered to 97th Infantry, “Kalasaglahi” Battalion last June 20, 2020 at 97th IB, Main Command Post (MCP), Barangay Poblacion, Leon B Postigo, Zamboanga del Norte.

Alias Daniel surrendered due to hunger and hardship. He also realized the deceitfulness of the terrorist group who recruited him.

“He (Alias Daniel) surrendered to our troops that were patrolling in vicinity of Barangay Tinuyop, Leon B Postigo. According to him he took the opportunity to escape the armed group while he was task to be a rear security he left his firearm and run towards the nearest government troops” Lt. Col. Manaros M Boransing, Commanding Officer, 97th IB said on his message.

“We will help him to enroll in Enhance and Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the government to give him and his family a benefits and assistance to start a new life.” Ltc. Col. Boransing added.

During the day of his surrender at 97th IB MCP Alias Daniel finally reunites with his mother in a very heartbreaking way after four (4) years when he was recruited by the terrorist group.
