13 Former NPA Rebels Receive Cash, Livelihood Assistance from Government

Thirteen former Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army rebels (FRs) who surrendered in Guidos, Zamboanga Del Sur were granted immediate cash assistance during the culmination of their Values Formation and Pyscho-Social Activity on May 29, 2020, at the Executive Function Hall, Provincial Capitol Compound, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Each FR was given PHP 15,000 in cash and PHP 50,000 worth of livelihood assistance, totaling PHP 845,000.

The 13 Former Rebels (FRs) who were given financial assistance under the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E- CLIP) thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for fulfilling his promise of good governance by implementing the reintegration program.

Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera said the government’s E-CLIP is fully operating to ensure that the FRs will have a holistic package of benefits that they can avail from the government.

“This is a “Whole-of-Nation Approach,” Herrera said adding that the FRs are given the opportunity to avail the different programs and services of various government agencies, live normal lives, and be productive citizens in their communities.

“Continue supporting the government and encourage your former comrades to join us in the pursuit of peace and development,” Herrera urged the FRs.
